The Dauphin Kings went 2-1-0 last week with all three of those games coming on the road.

First it was a disappointing loss in Waywayseecappo on Tuesday (2-1). However the Kings rebounded with two great road efforts on Friday and Saturday. Friday they beat the Blizzard in OCN 5-1, then after a long return trip from The Pas the Kings kept the ball rolling with a 3-2 victory in Neepawa against the Natives.

Now Dauphin is eighth in the standings, but nothing is clinched just yet, they’re going to need to keep getting points if they want to secure home ice in their survivor series.

This week is exactly like last for the Kings, one game on Tuesday followed by contests on Friday and Saturday. On Tuesday Dauphin plays their final regular season home game against the OCN Blizzard (7:00pm at Credit Union Place). That night will see the Kings announce their regular season award winners and more! Plus there’s a One Hour Power Play Show that afternoon on CKDM! On Friday the Kings begin their final road swing of 2014-15. They visit the Winnipeg Blues Friday night (7:00pm on CKDM) and then close out the regular season on Saturday in Virden against the Oil Capitals (7:30pm on CKDM)!

Three ‘s Of The Week

3. Drake Bodie

Drake probably deserved more than two points last week, but the brutal score keeping in OCN took at least one assist away from the Dauphin forward. Regardless, Bodie continues to be one of the Kings’ top players as the playoffs draw near. In 21 games this season with Dauphin Bodie has six goals and eight assists for 14 points. He’s clicking at a 0.7 point per game pace. If the 19 year old didn’t get injured at the start of the season he’d likely be the Kings top scorer right now. Watch his sweet set up on Kirklan Lycar’s 17th of the season…

2. Landon Plett

Landon Plett might be the most improved rookie on the Dauphin Kings since the start of the season. The forward had a goal and an assist over the weekend and looked good with Drake Bodie and former Eastman Selects teammate Kirklan Lycar. The Steinbach product is third in rookie scoring on the Dauphin Kings, he’s snagged six goals and 12 assists for 18 points this season. He found a nice fat rebound in the slot Friday night in OCN…

1. Connor Shaw

The beat goes on for Dauphin goalie Connor Shaw. The local product has won four straight starts for the Kings and looked good in both his wins over the weekend. In OCN he weathered a second period storm by the Blizzard. In Neepawa on Saturday he played well throughout, mostly in the third period when the Natives were coming on hard. Shaw’s record this season is 8-5, his goals against average is just above three at 3.05 and Shaw’s save percentage has past the .900 mark, now sitting at .907.
