Kings, Natives Begin Home-And-Home Series

September 11, 2015

look2

The Dauphin Kings will dress all seven Parkland players they have on their team tonight as they continue their pre season evaluations at Credit Union Place against the Neepawa Natives.

It’s the start of two-games-in-two-nights for both the Kings and Natives. Dauphin has been off since Tuesday while Neepawa hasn’t taken in game action since Wednesday when they dropped a 3-1 decision at home to the Waywayseecappo Wolverines. Both the Kings and Natives will meet again tomorrow in Neepawa (7:30pm). For new followers of this blog/parents of new players on the Kings, Neepawa is the closest MJHL town to Dauphin. It’s an hour-and-a-half drive southeast.

You’ll hear more about this in a minute in the interview below, but on Wednesday the Kings released four more players and now sit with 28 on their roster. Those players were (D) Tyler Wicks, (G) Riley Bannerman, (F) Travis Kilbrei and (F) Brendan Kochanski. For Tonight’s game I would assume fans will see a good mix of players from veterans and rookies. I’d also expect to see all local players in the lineup. Also, With Connor Shaw and Troy Martyniuk the two remaining goalies on the Kings right now, I’d anticipate they’ll both be playing games consistently until the start of the campaign. When I say that I mean there likely won’t be any split games.

When it comes to FASTHockey, tonight’s game should be broadcast online, puck drop is 7:00pm. However, I won’t be doing play-by-play for it just because I have other things going on in the rink right now. I will likely return to play-by-play next Friday when the Kings host their final home exhibition game against the Virden Oil Capitals.
