Kings Remain Perfect In Pre Season

September 11, 2015

The Dauphin Kings continued their solid play in the pre season Friday night, beating the Neepawa Natives 5-1 at Credit Union Place.

Kirklan Lycar fired in three goals to give himself five in the last two contests while Connor Shaw was strong between the pipes. Other scorers for the Kings were Graeme Hore and Tyler Garrioch.

Despite the Kings scoring five goals for the second straight game, the team is still looking for its first power play goal of the exhibition campaign. The man advantage has by no means been off, it’s had good chances and pressure, but just hasn’t come through yet.

Other notable items from the game included a fight between Daniel Chartrand and Neepawa’s Nolan Martens in the second period that seemed to get the crowd going. You can view the fight below. After that there were some minor shenanigans between the two clubs, which should make tomorrow’s game in Neepawa a little interesting.

The shot clock at Credit Union Place continues to malfunction, but according to online the Kings out shot the Natives 52-23. The score clock in Dauphin is expected to be fixed by the start of the season. Dauphin is now 3-0-0 on the exhibition campaign.

Thanks for following tonight. More below…
