Dauphin Kings Three ★‘s Of The Week

November 23, 2015

One of the more quieter weeks of the season took place last week for the Dauphin Kings.

The two game in two night stretch saw the Kings lose both contests to the OCN Blizzard. Dauphin dropped a 4-3 OT decision to OCN on Friday and then saw their comeback fall short in a 5-4 regulation loss against the Blizzard on Saturday, despite a much better effort than Friday’s.

This week the Kings have three games on their schedule. Wednesday they’ll visit the Virden Oil Capitals for this first time this season. You can hear the affair on 730 CKDM, the Parkland Source for Sports Pre Game Show begins at 7:15pm Wednesday evening, opening face off is 7:30pm. On Friday the Kings are back at Credit Union Place, they’ll entertain the Selkirk Steelers at 7:00pm. The One Hour Power Play Show returns on Friday, listen for it at 4:00pm that afternoon on 730 CKDM. Then Dauphin’s week wraps up on Saturday when they skate with the Virden Oil Capitals at Credit Union Place. Puck drop that night is 7:30pm. The Kings play Virden five times in the next three weeks.

Three ‘s Of The Week

3. Romano Morrison

Romano Morrison didn’t rack up a lot of points last week (2 assists on Saturday), but if he continues to play like he has for the past couple weeks he’s going to get rewarded more often. The 20 year old from Alberta is third on the Kings in scoring with 15 points (3G, 12A).

2. Chance Thomas

Chance Thomas enters action this week on a three game point streak with two goals and an assist in that span. Thomas is fifth on the Kings in scoring with 15 points (9G, 5A). In his last nine games Thomas has points in seven of them.

1. Tyler Garrioch

For the second straight week Tyler Garrioch is the Kings first star. It’s the third week in a row he’s been in the top three. Garrioch continues to be one of Dauphin’s top players, and that’s a good thing considering he is the club’s captain and is obviously leading by example. The Winnipeg product had a goal and an assist last week to extend his point streak to four games. Garrioch is fifth on the Kings in scoring with 14 points (5G, 9A).
