The schedule is starting to pick up for the Dauphin Kings as the month of December kicks off later this week.

Last week the Kings finished with a 1-2-0 record. They lost two games to Virden (5-0 & 7-2) and grabbed a 4-3 victory over the Selkirk Steelers.

This week the Kings have three games. They’ll start the schedule on Wednesday when they head south to Portage to battle the Terriers. On Friday the Kings host their Teddy Bear Toss Night at Credit Union Place. Teddy Bear Toss Night is always a fun time. That evening the Kings entertain the Neepawa Natives at 7:00pm. You can also listen to the One Hour Power Play Show that afternoon, it goes at 4:00pm LIVE from MR MIKES in Dauphin. On Saturday Dauphin entertains the Selkirk Steelers at Credit Union Place.

Three ‘s Of The Week

3. Romano Morrison

Romano Morrison had just a single assist last week but he is third star this week for battling. Morrison got a puck in the mouth Friday night when the Selkirk Steelers were in town. With a number of teeth gone the forward went to the dressing room and then returned later on with a full cage. He didn’t score but had multiple chances after coming back to the Dauphin bench, especially in the third period. Morrison (3G, 13A) is third on the Kings in scoring with 16 points so far this season.

2. Kirklan Lycar

The Lycar came back out of the garage over the weekend and picked up three points (1G, 2A). All came during Friday night’s 4-3 victory over the Selkirk Steelers. Lycar’s goal (Below) in the middle frame showed patience and, at the time, tied the game up at two for the Kings. Lycar leads Dauphin in goals with 11, he’s tied with Matthew Greening for the points lead on the club with 20.

1. Keaton Leininger

Keaton Leininger had a good debut week with the Dauphin Kings. He was arguably the club’s best player over the three games. Like Lycar, he only picked up points (1G, 2A) in Friday’s 4-3 win over Selkirk, scoring the game winner (Above) early in the third. Leininger and Lycar seem to be developing chemistry as the week moved forward. The American forward has 12 points including seven goals so far this season.
