Dauphin Kings Three ★‘s Of The Week

December 14, 2015

3 Stars Banner4039

The Dauphin Kings head into their final week of 2015 looking to build off their success late last week.

Dauphin picked up that big 4-2 win over Winkler on Sunday to snap a four game losing skid. Before that the Kings dropped two contests to Swan Valley and one to Virden earlier in the week.

When it comes to this week it’s a quieter one for the club. Dauphin hosts the Virden Oil Capitals on Friday for their final home game of 2015, opening face off is 7:00pm. Then on Saturday the Kings head south to Tundra Oil & Gas Place to battle the Oil Capitals and complete the home-and-home set. That game can be heard on 730 CKDM with puck drop at 7:30pm.

On Friday make sure you listen to the One Hour Power Play Show on 730 CKDM, it runs from 4:00pm to 5:00pm LIVE from MR MIKES in Dauphin. I’ll have a preview later this week.

Three ‘s Of The Week

3. Brad Goethals

Everyone in Swan River is still talking about it. Brad Goethals’ first goal as a Dauphin King Wednesday night was a real treat as he deked out three of the six Stampeders on the ice. Goalthals played in two games last week for Dauphin and had two points. The Eastman Select forward is one of a handful of very good up and coming prospects for the Dauphin Kings, he leads the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League in scoring with 47 points (30G, 17A), 15 ahead of another Kings prospect in Riese Gaber.

2. Aaron Kellogg

Aaron Kellogg’s first week with the Dauphin Kings was a good one. He had three goals in four games including the game winner in a 4-2 victory over the Winkler Flyers on Sunday. The 18 year old has also been solid on the defensive side of the puck.

1. Landon Plett

Landon Plett has played very well over the last six games. This past week he notched two goals and three assists for five points in four games. Plett was also key in the Kings’ 4-2 win over Winkler on Sunday, picking up Dauphin’s first goal of the night. The 19 year old has six points in his last seven games and is sixth on the Kings in scoring with 15 points (7G, 8A).

Kirklan Lycar

The Lycar (13G, 13A) didn’t snag any goals this past week, but he did pick up four assists and now leads the Dauphin Kings in points with 26. He’s one ahead of Matthew Greening (8G, 17A).
