Dauphin Kings Three ★‘s Of The Week

March 7, 2016

The Dauphin Kings will have their season on the line Tuesday night at Credit Union Place as they play game two of their best-of-three survivor series with the Selkirk Steelers.

Selkirk took game one of the set on Sunday night with a 6-5 overtime victory. Despite Dauphin’s great push in the third period they couldn’t come away with the extra time win.

Earlier in the week the Kings picked up three of a possible four points in OCN against the Blizzard. Dauphin dropped the first contest on Tuesday, falling 4-3 in a shootout. They then rebounded on Wednesday with a 4-1 decision over the Blizzard to close out the regular season.

Don’t forget, the One Hour Power Play Show is back on CKDM Tuesday to get you set for game two of the survivor series between the Kings and Steelers. The show goes live at 4:00pm from MR MIKES in Dauphin!

Fans can get tickets at the Parkland Rec Complex Reception Desk Monday until 4:30pm. You can also get tickets Tuesday from 8:30am until puck drop which is at 7:30pm!

NOTE: The Parkland Rec Complex Reception Desk is across from the Pool Desk, see you Tuesday night!

It’s the latest edition of RAPID FIRE with Kings’ D-man Oliver Lester…

Three ‘s Of The Week

3. Sam Schultz

Sam Schultz continues to go quietly about his business as the Dauphin Kings entered the post season. The D-man is currently on a six game point streak with eight assists in that span. Schultz is the top scorer on defence for the Kings, he had 27 points in the regular season (4G, 23A) and picked up an assist in Dauphin’s first playoff game.

2. Tyler Derkach

Local forward Tyler Derkach has got hot at the right time. In his last three games the former Parkland Ranger has three goals including a key one in game one of the Kings’ survivor series with Selkirk. Derkach had six points (4G, 2A) in the regular season.

1. Trevor Kavanaugh

If you talk about the Kings’ best players right now Trevor Kavanaugh would probably be in the mix of that conversation. Like Tyler Derkach, Kavanaugh has picked up three goals in his last three games, including the game tying goal Sunday in Selkirk. In his last seven games Kavanaugh has six goals. Since January 15th the 18 year old has picked up 11 goals in 24 games.
